hello lovelies! i just wanted to wish you all a very merry christmas!! i am home at last and taking the next few days to detox from my computer and spend time with humans.

and so the inevitable happened

so ontop of everything that had to be done this week, guess whose student house caught a case of the stomach flu? yes you guessed it, MINE. my lovely roomie schemms had it and i naively assumed that since i take my daily dose of vitamin c i would be a ok. well not so. i woke up yesterday and went...uh oh. so i sat my first two exams just barely and then i was done. i e-mailed the registrar to differ my exam, curled up in the fetal position and prayed to the christmas angels to make me better for the plane ride tomorrow. and the prayers worked. though i am still achy i got the a ok from boyfriends mummy (who is ever so conveniently a doctor) that if i washed my hands plenty and rested up i would be ok. 

i don't think i have ever been as home sick as i have been this semester. i am ever so excited about the flight tomorrow.

the next 48 hours

it is STILL my exam period. i have the worst schedule in the history of schedules. three exams within the next 24 hours (i actually realized i could have changed my timetable. too late must soldier on). i am so hyper and anxious it is ridiculous. making me this way is a combination of things really. 

one, i have consumed 4 litres of diet coke in the last 2 days. this keeps me up all night...like until 5 am no lie. another thing keeping me up and making me bouncy is the absolute uncontrollable excitement of seeing boyfriend in exactly two days. i will tell you that we have not seen each other for 4 horrendously long months and i have constant flutters that keep me from staying still.

i am a teeny tiny stressed about the next week as well. i am so excited to go home but it is a tad daunting the amount of things that need to be done before christmas. eeeeek.

OH and on top of that, i have to pass my exams....no biggie. 

so that is my crrent life in a nutshell. 

getting me through the next manic 48 hours until i am on a plane? knowing that i am going to see so many beautiful faces on wednesday. oh and also the picture above. no need to explain why.

another day, another distraction! i am reading up on roman floor mosaics (as most everyone does on a tuesday) and am completely preoccupied by online christmas shopping. one thing that i have been lusting after are fun tights. these are a few from asos that i would love to add to my collection.

this friday we are getting into the holiday spirit. i do not wanting to be studying for my exams (or at least thinking about it) i want to be dressing up for glamourous holiday parties, shopping through malls for presents and sipping baileys. so to liven my spirits i will be heading over to long distance loving to check out other beautiful holiday outfit boards to get me in the mood because in 13 days i will be home which means glamourous parties await me, so i got to get ideas.

this is like one of those quizzes you used to have to fill out when you were in elementary school. i saw it on all you need is love and since i am having a foggybloggy thursday so i thought i would give it a go...and if any of you decide to try it let me know!

o. overnight hospital stays- almost. i am anaphylactic and had an episode but left at ten

p. pet peeves- subtitles. i find them ridiculously distracting

q. quote from a movie- "come what may, i will love you until my dying day". yes it is cheesy but i re-watch that part from moulin rouge over and over sometimes.

t. time it takes you to get ready- i actually surprise myself at how quick i am. i don't think it has ever taken me more than 15-20 mins. unless i am having a clothing crisis then it could take hours.

u. underwear- i am so boring with underwear. neutral, cotton with a touch of lace. overall comfy and pretty. that is all. 

v. vegetable you hate- i love them raw i will eat them WHOLE but i really don't like cooked mushrooms. i have tried so hard to like them because i love all vegetables but i just don't like the texture of soggy mushrooms.

w. what makes you run late- picking out an outfit. like i said it could take hours. 

x. x-rays- so many cannot count. broke my arm once, spine x-ray, toe x-ray 

y. yummy food you make- i make artichoke dip that is kind of my go to. i also make sushi. love homemade sushi. 

z. zoo animal- polar bears or panda bears. i have a thing for bears obviously.

things i am loving lately

1. the big bang theory because it literally makes me laugh out loud...great for study breaks 
2. advent calendars because they are the best way to countdown to christmas
3. my amazing art history chickees who give me christmas cards and accompany me on library study dates and bowling alley adventures 
4. the dictionary app i recently discovered on my comp...also thanks to a result of a library study dates
5. 9:35 pm snack dates with schemms (aka nextdoor house mate) sipping diet cokes out of halloween cups because we are too lazy to wash the stack of dishes in our sink
6. HUGE wooly socks/slippers that keep my toesies cold in my oddly insulated student house
7. blogging...for getting me through the late night study sessions and various papers 
8. the radio for playing all christmas music all the time...amen to that
9. my new CHI serum that smells divine and tends to my recently trimmed hair 
10. last but not least my skype for providing me with constant communication with the ones i love 

it snowed last night...so happy about that too!

over the weekend....

this past weekend was absolute chaos. dads was here for our annual christmas shop and it was extremely successful. we get to buy our gifts and those for all the cousins in the family but overall it is just really a nice family weekend together eating out and catching up. poor man my father, he is such a trooper! he is always surrounded by women and he handles it so well. pictures to come later this week but for now i have deadlines on the immediate horizon so i have to love and leave you. 

it is going to be a crazy week!
