four eyes

today i got my hundredth (well maybe fifth) pair of glasses. seems like my hundredth pair because they always seem to go missing or out of style (one pair was stolen another eaten by my dog). i have worn reading glasses since i was 13 and always had a thick, plastic frame. this time not much has changed except these are my biggest geekiest glasses yet. however this is the trend right now and i have jumped right on board. find them here<3

i think a banquette for seating is way more cozy than normal chairs. this is a great way to gather around for a home cooked meal and save on that sometimes minimal space in kitchens. hope you like <3

we heart it

mirrors on a sunday. its been a long weekend so its nice to sit back and look at pretty things.  mirrors are always a great piece to open and lighten up a room. they give great depth and also add a decorative quality. these few i chose i think are like beautiful pieces of art.

what i REALLY want to be eating

i just finished a salad for late lunch. i mixed it up with some fresh mushrooms, sunflower seeds, extra light goat cheese, orange peppers and some grilled chicken. topped with balsamic it was quite tasty. note to self to take pics next week. hid my camera so NOT to be distracted in exams. however this is not really what i want to be eating. what i really want to be eating is this delicious looking penne dish from a sofa in the kitchen a blog that my cousin di follows. when i have a moment of weakness it will be to make this with EXTRA pancetta <3

so my dad is renovating our kitchen this summer, fingers crossed, and i am looking for some design inspirations to spice up our country galley kitchen. it is a long space but quite open to the house so i want something that flows, and is white OF COURSE. here are a few ideas. still working on a colour scheme for dishes and linens though, always ten steps ahead of everything <3


a few rules for designing a kitchen

1. a fridge must always be built into the cabinetry. stand alone fridges look like an afterthought

2. you must always do a backsplash. such an unfinished look without them

3. always leave counter space beside your stove top. convenient for cutting

4. going with a porous countertop can prove to be a big and expensive mistake

5. remember a kitchen is a place of congregation. make as much room as you can for socializing
